As the Carter dynasty continues to expand in the turbulent 1970’s under the stewardship of CEO Emma Malikov, the seeds of its impending destruction are inadvertently sown. Emma’s son Michael, who has been groomed to take over the mantle of leadership, is seduced by the radical views of the hard left and is steered by his politicised girlfriend in a direction which sets him on a collision course with the family.
Emma’s reputation is riding high as her Cassandra chain of nightclubs become the recreation of choice for the rich, powerful and corrupt. But her position is undermined when news reaches her that her former lover and business associate is about to be released from prison and needs her to act as his guarantor in order to secure his freedom.
Internationally, anarchist groups are making headlines with kidnappings and murders that challenge the post war status quo. When the Carter dynasty becomes embroiled with such a group, the values and ethics of the family are laid bare as they fight to preserve their succession.
